A couple of deep house tracks to beat the Monday blues.. [FREE DOWNLOAD]

St. Valentine's day came and went. No date this year, can't remember I've had one at all.

So it's back to work I guess. I don't have an auger sharp enough so can't go ice fishing either. I've had quite a lot of time to polish my tracks under my Disco Enrique alias.

In search of silky sexy smooth, intimate beach vibes I dug up an old project that was left on my PC that failed to start back in 2017 or so, when I started my business. It was a huge setback as I didn't have any stable income to-afford a new computer. I did buy an 8-track Tascam SD recorder though and with sorrow entered my DAWless era which turned out to be very exciting though.

I learned a bunch of stuff about chords and scales while fiddling around with nothing but a drum machine, bass synth, keyboard and a mixer. I've been using those things I learned in my production after purchasing a laptop.

So here are the latest tracks, first we have "Café del Mar" which is an old track from the time my PC crashed and the master files were lost :

This track was re-recorded from memory; the original track had a saxophone but I changed it into a funky clavinet lick. Other than that it features piano licks, lush pads and a nice vocal sample.

Then there's the Block Party EP which I finished this morning :

I was going for more of a intimate vibe with this one. It also has rhodes and the second track has funky wah guitar added to taste. For the cover I sketched this fictional roadmap and turned it into polar coordinates which I learned by accident while making CD covers.

That's about it for this month. I'm trying to focus more on my deep house stuff as I very much enjoy it, although my releases-spreadsheet shows a significant bump under this alias. Techno and drum'n'bass I'm not that much into anymore after the release of my debut drum'n'bass album, but who knows I'll pop up with a surprise.
