More about the Ye Old Shoppe [been working all summer, just tryin' to earn a dollar]

There are some technical quirks in the web store. I'm trying to fix them, right about now you can view the individual releases if you have a direct link. Otherwise, the front page doesn't seem to work.

It could take something like 5 business days for the payments to flow. To celebrate this I released my debut drum'n'bass album "Akash" in CD quality to test the webstore.

I'm not 100% sure of what takes place behind the curtains but I'm fairly confident it's the legacy code used in my 2023 webstore which had 25 releases in total. I don't "technically" have access to the backend as I'm writing this from a dashboard.

Some development news; the patch for Tales of Akash 9 is on it's way. I visited a local game store and got a bunch of new ideas. But unfortunately I've been drinking beer and can't publish it, there's a lot of stuff to debug before it gets released.

I had this idea of releasing it open-source and free, with the option to purchase it from the webstore if the player wishes to support the development. It's not like I'm starving or anything, or the game being something out of this world but it would be nice to get at least something from the sleepless nights and hours of coding.

Personally, I have this gut feeling many people wished there would've been Novoc in the latest iteration of the game. I designed it as a multiplayer/MMO and thought the lack of NPC's makes it more "game"-, not story-focused.

There was an idea to implement an optional instanced dungeon in the game in which there would've been NPCs and the ability to craft items for trading or use but I saw it sort of cliché and even dangerous as the player could've died in the side quest. After all, I designed the game so there's a "tutorial" which is the first 15 or so moves and then you could get all political and stuff with like PvP and trading, chat etc.

But then again the use of NPCs would've been fruitful in the tutorial section, but the idea was that the game takes place after the Akashic Dungeon is finished (if you're familiar with Tales of Akash 8, in which it was under construction).

Until then,

Simunai,

simunai,

we all gon' die

PS. Simunai was an old saying of a childhood friend of mine, if I recall correctly it was a spell of some sort, I just added the finishing phrase. Until then, here's the CD quality version of my debut dnb album available in the webshop.

PPS. Here's another release as of 5/9/2026, fresh out of the sequencer. I'm pretty content with it so it's now up in the webstore (which should work 100% now, thanks to someone in the Wix IT department I guess).
