Theia2 out now! [a free indie space exploration game]

After developing Theia with the same-name game engine I began wondering if the engine could be tweaked.

Soon I realized I could add a 3rd axis (Z) in addition to the X and Y axis'.

It took me a couple of days but by modifying the existing 2D engine I got the 3rd axis in place. This in turn means the world was now three times larger, 243 quadrants instead of the 81 (it's a 9x9 engine at it's core with added 3 units of Z axis depth).

Theia2 was now under development.

Set in a very similar game world the player begins where the original game ended. The player has now lost coordinates for Gaia and must explore the galactic star systems to retrieve them by interacting with encounters and through dialogue.

The graphic design didn't take very long as I was familiar with GIMP's capabilities and the workflow. The wormhole animation is the same as in the original game.

The music was composed in Ableton Live mostly by using NI Massive.

In total it took me about a week and a half to develop the game.

You can download it from my Dropbox:

Hope you enjoy the game!

As you can see from the version it has been revised a few times.

I have another game in the making too while I was waiting for feedback but it's missing a lot of content and has numerous bugs.
