More adventures, Tales of Akash 8 finished! [free RPG]

The beginning of 2026 looks promising so far. The holidays are soon over, but I've been working tirelessly on my new game engine/framework and graphics as well as sfx. For example I spent the New Year's Eve on tracking acoustic guitar.

It had to be tuned as I haven't really played it since my guitar lessons. It was a whopping semitone down from the standard tuning. Other than that I've been eagerly waiting for the ice to form in the lake so I can go icefishing. The auger needs sharpening too.

So more about the game engine; I came up with an idea of an ASCII framework which is translated into images using a loop that iterates characters on a 3x3 grid. This allowed me to quickly program scenes and grids, while keeping the graphics easy to manage and not taking up too much disk space.

I also dabbled in random level generation, the game showcases both of these aspects. It was at first supposed to be viewed from above but I realized soon the engine could be used for pseudo-3D graphics using graphics which give the illusion of depth.

Without further ado, here's the sequel in full. It takes about 42,5Mb space when extracted. Tested on Windows 10.

You can find the rest of the games within the Dropbox folder.

Hope you enjoy it, and have a magnificent New Year!

PS. Unfortunately due to lack of server space I cannot upload an image. Also, the game has a small bug but I'm working on fixing it.
